Humane Society rescues 52 cats from filthy conditions
Many of these cats are undersocialized and very shy. Oakville, Ontario, August 29 2008 -- It took nine hours for Animal Protection Officers of the Oakville and District Humane Society to find and coax more than 50 distressed cats out of hiding in a home in north-east Oakville.
Accompanied by a veterinarian and the police, staff worked tirelessly to locate and transport all the cats to safety. Most of the cats are estimated to be one to four years old, and about six are kittens. All but one are Bengal cats, a breed known for its exotic markings and intelligent personality.
